Petra Grujic - (1984 - 2003)

This care page and the discussion board was created by Petra Grujiic (Pep or Pepito). Pep was only 19 at the time she created HTP and had already suffered greatly from the cancer that was to consume her. But she never let the disease touch her soul. She founded HTP and gave it as much time, love and devotion as she did all her pets. Being from Croatia, her English was not textbook, but the understanding and care she gave to her turtles and to each person on the forum broke all language barriers.

Jessica J. Chemnitz - (1987 - 2008)

Jessica was a beautiful girl who brought joy to those around her. HTP got to know Jessica better when her mom Christine was in the hospital and she logged in daily to give us updates. We got to know the young girl who loved animals and served her country proudly. Jessica had a love for animals and it was that love that brought Mick into her life and ours. Jessica and Christine adopted this incredibly goofy pit bull that became Jessica’s “pesky little brother” and a mascot of sorts for HTP. Jessica was diagnosed with terminal liver cancer and unfortunately passed away a month later, just two days after her little brother Mick. They will always be remembered with a smile for the joy they brought HTP.
