I'm definately no expert on all the different types of turtles you guys have over there....but to me she looks like a Red Eared Slider. The paler red stripe on the side of her head looks like its due to age. They fade and get more black as the turtle gets older. Also that brownish shell colour is very common in the older RES here. The skin pattern looks RES too...and definately a female. She could be over 10 yrs old judging by colouring. But someone else may have a different opinion?  :hmm: Does she have a little bit of an 'overbite' or is it just the angle of the photo? Beautiful looking girl  :turtle:
P.s. put the minnows in when you are going out...or at night...then they will be gone when you return and you'll know nothing about it  :snick: Unless she likes to keep them as pets for awhile .....
Love my turtles... and the dog :)

hmm i wouldnt have thought she was a red eared slider, she looks completely different to our RES :/

she doesnt have an overbite that i can see, but then again ive not got close enough to her mouth to look, she bit my boyfriends knuckle the other day and he bled so i like to keep my hands away from her head for now lol. to say they have no teeth, they really can do some damage  :hmm:

Sorry for not answering your question DebbieB just realised you asked before. the tank is 415Litres, not sure what this is in Gallons  , but im not sure. we have a stand for it and there is a seperate part which can be bought seperatly which goes on top and can be used as a basking area, it matches the base and has little windows in, need to save up for this though...lots of pennies :( so we have a ramp upto a platform for her for now.

Thanks for the compliments for her, Foxy was snuggling with her earlier, it was so weird, she fights on with our other puppy yet has no problem cuddling a turtle  strange strange dog, tried to get a photo but as soon as i got up she was at my side :(

we put a minnow in earlier before we went to the shop, came back and it was still there...and as of now is still swimming around...i hope she doesnt make friends with it and THEN eats it lol

No problem, I know you have alot going on.  Moo had a minnow for 3 years, it got to be almost 2 inches before it disappeared one night.

:HTPwelcome: She doesn't look pregnant to me. And I thought she looks like a RES too. She's about the size of Rascal, but Rascal is only 5 years old, and still has a very prominent red stripe. When Rascal is in egg-laying mode, her body behind her back legs is bulging. Tigger doesn't appear to be like that.

Not all turtles 'bulge' . Most of mine dont when gravid  The brownish colouring can just be a varient in the colour spectrum that the RES come in  :turtle: (And grizzmouse, Rascall is a gorgeous looking turtle!  :snick: )

Since you are already buying a new tank and it sounds like you have the room. I would highly suggest purchasing a larger tank (as large as you can fit/afford) for Tigger and putting one of the smaller turtles in the 110 gallon as you mentioned.

Turtles do carry salmonella. And letting them roam around in a house can be unhealthy.  :1:

she wasnt roaming the house, i got her out to take some photos so the people here could help me identify her. i know she can carry salmonella and we have alcoholic handwash which we use everytime we handle the turtles, which is rarely anyway, and the dogs dont ever go near them, except the one time i was cleaning the tank and foxy laid next to tigger and fell asleep.

While most all of us here at HTP understand and certainly can appreciate your awareness,
we do have other new members and guests who may visit and read your post that may not be as aware of the cautions that should be taken.
I do apologize for not clarifying the statements I was attempting to convey.  :blush"

:HTPwelcome:  I would say that Tigger is a RES...she looks very similar to my large female in skin colouring and shell with the exceptionn that mine still has red ears
