well the mecury vapor bulb i have is zoo med and now i need to get a stand for it so it can be 12-14 inches away =/ and no there isnt any discharge so yeh that is good! It does open its ees from time to time so i gues thats a good sign too.

I use the zoo med too and it reccomends at minimum 12" away

Just an example of our setup, the ZooMed lamp hangers hold the deep-dish lamps with ReptiSun 10.0's...

Using the directions the bulb is 19" away from the ramp, there is a knob on the holder upright so you can easily adjust the height.

thanks for that picture that helps! and before i got the mv bulb i only had a basking bulb and it was around 6 inches away but jade never had eye problems with it. I doubt my parents would let me hang the bulb from the ceiling so im going to go for buying a hanger similiar to the picture  :up: thanks for all the support  :cheers2: it seems like im the only one at home caring about jade =/

jades making good progress right now!  :up: i put the old basking bulb up 15 min ago and right away its eyes opened up and it started basking again! right now i might go with my moms to a petstore to see if they sell that zoo med hanger :up:
